The Stonewall riots in 1969 brought great pride to the closeted Gay community, who began to come out in droves to celebrate who they are, creating great social change around the country. It all started at a Longshoreman’s pub called “the Eagle Open Kitchen,” located at 142 11th avenue at 21st street, in operation from 1931-1970. The Eagle tradition started in NYC back in 1970.
